Well it was with a tinge of sadness that I said goodbye to my housemates this morning before leaving for my flight to Gladstone. I will be seeing all of them again except one in January, and I’ve only known them for 2 weeks, but I have thoroughly enjoyed living with them, finding out about Europe and the life experiences I’ve gained from my placement.
The flight to Gladstone was much the same as I remembered; a tiny Qantas plane, beautiful views of the water and landscape, flying too close to the powerlines and the small hot Gladstone airport with a very long queue for the taxi. A new and exciting addition to this routine, was the pink cupcakes that they handed out for a morning snack on the plane. The cupcakes were pink to signify the partnership between Qantas and the National Breast Cancer Foundation and let me tell you they were delish!
