Been in Taiwan doing much shopping.
Anyway, I’ve decided to attend the University of Melbourne undergraduate medicine course on a National Medicine Scholarship….
As promised, you can find my UWA interview experience below:
OK, the interview process start with 2 pdf documents you have to download of their website. You will be using that website to book your interview spot (get on there as soon as it opens!!!).
So, I went down to UWA on a flight, sitting next to a screaming baby. I got there in time for the interview…
The pre-interview signing in process was not very organized. We had to sit here, wait there, fill in forms in this theatre…talk amongst a small group…and then go to another building for the interview 
One very important thing about the interview. The UWA med interview is the only, truly ’structured’ interview in Australian undergraduate medicine. It is boring as hell, and very rigid. Just ask James…he’ll tell you! We didn’t like it.
It was a 2 by 4 meter room with a long table across it. I sat opposite to the two interviewers. The interview questions were pretty standard: career in medicine, team work, conflict resolution… The interview was short (around 25 minutes).
However, there were some interesting questions, e.g.:
“Name and describe a person who has contributed to the community.”
“What personal attitudes and beliefs may negatively affec the community?”
Another intersting test, they show you a picture and ask you “What is the patient feeling?” “What are the family feeling?”…etc.
They also give you a couple of scenarios, but the most difficult part of the interview is the ‘lifelessness’ of it.
There you go, another narrative done.
