Back in Adelaide

Hey everyone, and a special welcome to those starting out this year in the City of Churches, especially if you are coming to Lincoln, where I should be seeing you. KMB 65 - free internetz at my place…

Second year beckons for me and for many of my friends. Exciting? You bet. Easy? I don’t know, to be honest, though I highly doubt it. Perhaps it’s time for me to take another look at why I’m here. Do I still feel the same about medicine? I’m hoping so, but I can’t tell for sure. With a new year will come new experiences and challenges, in the very cliched sense; and I hope that this year will be much the same for you, dear reader.

And a belated Happy Valentine’s Day to all.

(imagine I’ve gone and come back after a couple of weeks, which I have between writing the above and below.)

Medcamp and Lincoln O-week were exactly as I had remembered from last year. Well, okay, medcamp was in a better place, and there was this incident of someone going missing for several hours while the members of his dorm room (including me for the day) and we searched for him for three hours only to finally find him in the other dorm - in the corresponding room (2nd on left) in the corresponding bed.

heh.

It was a good night overall though, with me making more friends on this medcamp than I did on the last one (how this happened is beyond me) and playing ‘remier all over again and losing a phone and keys and getting them back. I think it was a trend to lose expensive electronic devices among the older years, with four of my friends losing a phone/camera/iPod; to the best of my knowledge, the iPod is still missing. Lesson: Don’t wear a boilersuit without anything under, the pockets don’t hold things well if you’re on the dance floor…

Cheers to the legend who lent me his jumper from first year, you know who you are. Lesson: Never wear nothing underneath your boilersuit, it’s really cold.

(now a couple of weeks later again)

Last night was President’s Keg. I’m surprised how many people came even though it was a bit far and a bit out of their comfort zones. I am also realising that it is very easy to lose inhibitions without drinking any alcohol at all. Also, a belated Happy Birthday to June. :)

  1. It has been a crazy start to the year hey? 1-2 events a week, taking its toll on me and my study. Jazz night up next, then that should be it for a few weeks.
